Diabetes Mellitus Treatment
The spa resort “Mashuk Aqua-Therm” is happy to offer its guests a new programme called “Diabetes mellitus treatment”.
Indications for treatment:
- Insulin-dependent (I type), insulin-independent diabetes mellitus at the compensation stage (II type), complicated cases with the diabetic retinitis of the 1st and 2nd stages, nephropathy of the 1st stage without azotemia, disturbed circulation in the lower limbs without trophic ulcers.

Contraindications for treatment:
- Diabetes mellitus at the decompensation stage, liability to hypoglycemic conditions with quick loss of consciousness.
Programme objective:
- Prevention and treatment of chronic complications, primarily, diabetic peripheral neuropathy;
- Gaining a stable compensation of diabetes mellitus.
Selection of the treatment method and procedures is made on the individual basis with the account of patient indications and contraindications.
The programme “Diabetes Mellitus Treatment” is supervised by the therapist and endocrinologist.
The health-promoting and treatment programme includes:
- Doctor advice (vascular surgeon, herbalist, ophthalmologist);
- Diagnostic procedures (common urine test, complete blood count, biochemical blood test (4 tests as per indications), capillary glucose, hepatobiliary system ultrasound);
- Health-promoting procedures – climatotherapy and Terrainkur (slow walks in the open air), etc.
The set of treatment procedures covers massage, drinking of the unique mineral water, mineral baths, dry carbonic acid gas baths, turpentine baths, iodide-bromine baths (as per indications), whirlpool baths for hands and legs in case of complications in limbs, contrast baths, balneotherapeutics (circular shower), magnitoturbotron, hirudoterapy, a package of physiotherapeutic procedures and many others.
